The All India Institute of Medical Sciences declared on Tuesday a shortlist of candidates for counselling for its MBBS course across seven institutions. The entrance exam for the MBBS course was conducted on May 29.

Sathvik Reddy Erla from Hyderabad secured the top rank in the entrance examination. Nikhil Bajiya, a reserved category candidate, secured the second rank in the exam.

A total of 24,333 candidates have been called for the 672 seats available in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh. These candidates will appear for the first round of counselling from July 4.

Last year, 14,417 candidates were called in for the same number of seats that the seven institutes offer across India.

The counselling will be spread across four days – July 4, 5, 7 and 8. “Candidates will exercise their choice of the Institute when called during the counselling as per their rank in their respective category. Choice thus made will be final & no claim will be entertained in this regard thereafter,” the institute said.

Physical counselling will be done for the allocation of seats.
