
Imphal, May 31: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said people expressed strong support for the government’s initiatives to restore normalcy in Manipur.
After meeting a delegation at the border town of Moreh, Amit Shah said in a social network platform that he held a meeting with the delegations of Kuki and other communities at Moreh.
He also took stock of the security situation with senior officials in Moreh. Manipur, which witnessed one of the worst clashes between two ethnic groups causing immense hardship to the people.
Internet remained suspended after violence started at Churachandpur district after a rally on May 3. It spread fast to Moreh and finally the state capital. the main highway Imphal to Mao remained blocked by people at Kangpokpi district
