The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the Centre’s notification on Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu.
The Animal Welfare Board had moved the apex court against Centre’s move to lift ban on the controversial bull-taming sport in Tamil Nadu.
The decision in this regard was pronounced by an apex court bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur.
The court also issued notice to the Centre, Tamil Nadu government on petitions filed by various bodies, including Animal Welfare Board of India.
