Ranchi, Oct 10,2020: Former Bihar chief minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday was granted bail in Chaibasa Treasury Case of the multi crore Fodder Scam of the 1990s.
Mr Justice Apresh Kumar granted the bail to Lalu Yadav and directed his lawyers to submit Rs 2 lakh in a lower court.
However, Lalu will not be able to come out of jail as he has been convicted and awarded imprisonment in multiple cases of the fodder scam. So far he has got bail in two cases while to step out he needs to get bail in another case.
Lalu Yadav has remained in the jail since December 2017 when he was awarded imprisonment in Deoghar Treasury case. Currently ,he has been kept at the Bungalow of RIMS Director where he was undergoing treatment for various health related issues as due to rising cases of Coronavirus the RIMS administration decided to move him from the paying ward to a much lesser crowded and safe location.
