Islamabad, Oct 1,2020: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has called upon Afghanistan’s leadership to put the past behind them and restart their bilateral relationship on a fresh and positive note with a forward-looking approach, Dawn News reported on Thursday.
The Pakistan Prime Minister said this in his meeting with Dr Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman HCNR of Afghanistan on Wednesday.
After the meeting, Khan tweeted, “We had a very interesting conversation: theme being the past is an invaluable teacher to learn from but not to live in. We must look forward towards the future. I wish him all the success in his mission.”
Dr Abdullah, while participating at a round table discussion hosted by Center for Research and Security Studies said, “I am leaving Islamabad with a good sense, a good impression and a lot of friendly messages.”
Experts believe that Dr Abdullah Abdullah’s visit to Pakistan has helped improve coordination between the two countries especially regarding the peace efforts between them and particularly within Afghanistan.
Imran Khan is also expected to visit Afghanistan in the near future.
