India successfully test-fires Nuke capable Agni-5 missile

AGNI 5New Delhi, Jun 3 : India on Sunday successfully test-fired the indigenously developed and nuclear-capable Long Range Ballistic Missile Agni 5 from Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Abdul Kalam Island, formerly known as Wheeler Island in Bhadrak district of Odisha.

Agni-5 missile is successfully flight tested this morning at 0945 hrs from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island. All the Radars, Electro Optical Tracking Stations and Telemetry Stations tracked the vehicle all through the course of the trajectory.

“This was the sixth trial of the surface-to-surface missile, which has a strike range of 5,000 km. Agni 5 is the most advanced missile with new technologies in terms of navigation and guidance, warhead, and engine”, Defence Research and Development Organisation officials said.
