New Delhi, Mar 10,2026: Russia on Tuesday called for de-escalating the Iran-US-Israel war as soon as possible by resuming political and diplomatic peace settlement dialogue and expressed readiness to facilitate the process.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday evening and discussed the current situation in the Middle East, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

‘The Ministers continued to exchange opinions regarding the current situation in the Middle East that has deteriorated drastically due to the unprovoked US-Israeli aggression against Iran,’ the Ministry said.

It said Sergey Lavrov once again set forth the Russian side’s ‘principled position’ in favour of deescalating the conflict as soon as possible and resuming the process of a political and diplomatic peace settlement.

‘The Russian side is invariably ready to facilitate this process, with due consideration for security interests of Iran and its regional neighbours,’ The Ministry added.
