Jammu, Jun 9: Asserting that directives have been issued to the state governments to ensure that illegal immigrants shall not obtain any document to claim their citizenship rights, Union Home Minister Rajnath
Singh on Friday said Rohingyas belong to Burma(Myanmar) and have to be deported.
“We have told the governments across the country to get biometrics and other details of Rohingyas while directions are also issued to ensure that illegal immigrants shall not obtain any documents, which later help them to claim citizenship right of the country,” Mr Singh told mediapersons here on Friday evening at a press conference before wrapping up his two-day visit to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, “Rohingyas belong to Burma and they have to go back,” adding, “once the exercise of assembling data shall be completed, it will be submitted to the Union External Ministry for further sharing it with the Burma Government so that they (Rohingyas) can be deported”.
