New Delhi: The Dean and Professor of Faculty of Legal Studies at South Asian University prof. Yogesh Kumar Tyagi has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Delhi University . His name was selected by President Pranab Mukherjee from a panel of four persons.
Last week, the HRD ministry had forwarded the four names to the President who, as Visitor of Central Universities, makes the final selection. Tyagi will assume charge of the new assignment from Dinesh Singh, whose tenure saw controversy over the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), which was later rolled back after intervention by University Grants Commission.
