CBI files FIR against MLA and others in Unnao rape survivor accident case

cbiNew Delhi, Aug1:  The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case under murder charges in the accident case of the Unnao rape survivor, against the suspended BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and 10 others, the sources said here on Wednesday.
The probe agency has also named 15-20 unknown others in the FIR.
It was alleged that the accused persons were conspiring, threatening and harassing the family of the complainant, and further alleged that the accident which took place on Sunday has resulted in loss of two lives.
The probe agency has accordingly constituted a team for speedy and smooth investigation of the case, the sources said.
The government at the Centre on Tuesday had given the investigation in this matter to the CBI as recommended by the UP government, while earlier the state Police had also filed a murder case in the matter against Sengar and nine others over complaint by the family of the rape survivor in which they alleged conspiracy behind the accident.
It was on Sunday that the car in which the Unnao rape survivor was travelling with her lawyer and two more people was allegedly hit by a speeding truck near Rae Bareli.
In the said accident, two people got killed while the rape survivor and her lawyer got critically injured who are under treatment in a UP hospital and were said to be serious.
