New Delhi : Opposition raised concerns over the Aadhaar card by raising slogans in the Rajya Sabha. They argue that the Aadhaar card should not be made compulsory for all the citizens. The members gathered near the well and raised slogans like ” Aadhaar card bandh karo.”
Sharad Yadav, JD(U), said, “In the matter of Aadhar card, the poor people are left bereft from all facilities. This matter should be taken very seriously.”
BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu assured the members that the Aadhaar card will not be made compulsory but it is important for security reasons. He said, ” We have taken note of your concerns. Aadhaar card is the need of the hour. It removes the middle-man and hence reduces corruption.”
