The Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry constituted a committee, headed by film-maker Shyam Benegal, on Friday to suggest best practices to help the Board members to understand the nuances of certifying films.A Ministry note said the recommendations of the committee were expected to provide a holistic framework and enable those tasked with the work of certification of films to discharge their responsibilities keeping in view this framework.
The committee comprises veteran film makers Shyam Benegal, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, ad guru Piyush Pandey and film critic Bhawana Somaya .
