Former cricketer and two time BJP MP Chetan Chauhan has been appointed as the chief of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
Chauhan, who played 40 tests for India is currently the vice-president of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and runs a newsprint business. But he was confident about having time for all of them.
“I will spend 60 per cent of the time in DDCA, 30 per cent at NIFT and 30 per cent in my business,” he said.
Chauhan’s appointment comes even as the controversy over appointing Gagendra Chauhan as the chief of FTII last year refuses to die down. FTII Students and filmmakers had held nationwide protests against his appointment.
