Devotees on Wednesday joined the funeral procession of departed Sant Nirankari Mission head Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj as it proceeded towards the Nigam Bodh Crematorium Ground.Mortal remains of Avneet Setya, son-in-law of Baba Hardev Singh, who died in the crash too, were placed next to the mortal remains of Baba Hardev Singh.
Baba Hardev Singh, head of Nirankari Mission, was killed in a road accident in Canada on 13 May. He was the chief priest of Sant Nirankari mission.
Sikhism believes in following scriptures, but followers of Sant Nirankari movement which split from Sikhism in 1929 hold a living guru as their leader. He took over as the head of the mission after the assassination of his father and provided guidance to the disciples.
The mission is a global organisation with 2000 centres across the world.
