Islamabad, Dec 20,2025: A Pakistani court on Saturday sentenced former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 17 years’ imprisonment each in a corruption case related to the underpriced purchase of luxury state gifts, widely known as the Toshakhana-2 case.
The verdict has added another dimension to Khan’s growing legal troubles as 73-year-old leader has been facing multiple legal cases since his removal from office in April 2022. In addition to corruption charges, he is also facing trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act related to the violent protests of May 9, 2023. He has been behind bars since August 2023 and is currently serving a 14-year sentence in a separate pounds 190 million land corruption case. Bushra Bibi is also serving a seven-year sentence in the same case. The verdict has added another dimension to Khan’s growing legal troubles as 73-year-old leader has been facing multiple legal cases since his removal from office in April 2022.
