Washington, Dec 12,2024: US President-elect Donald Trump said on Thursday that he is against the strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces deep into Russia with US long-range missiles, because it leads to an even greater escalation of the conflict.
“I disagree very vehemently with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. Why are we doing that?” Trump said in an interview with the Time magazine, adding that the United States is “just escalating this war and making it worse.”
Trump said he was going to use US aid to Ukraine as leverage against Russia in the talks to end the conflict.
“I want to reach an agreement,” Trump said, “and the only way you’re going to reach an agreement is not to abandon.”
