Zelenskyy holds meeting with NATO Secretary General in Davos

Jan 16,2023: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, where he met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel on Jan. 16.

Zelenskyy said they discussed a range of important issues, including the situation on the battlefield, Ukrainian defense needs, further strengthening Ukraine’s air defense system, preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, and bilateral security agreements, which will be in effect until Ukraine’s NATO accession.

“Thank you for the steadfast support of our country in defense against Russian aggression,” he wrote.

Additionally, a meeting regarding the Ukrainian peace formula took place in Davos at the national security advisor level on Jan. 14.
Representatives from 81 countries and international organizations participated in the discussions. The meeting covered five of the ten points in the Ukrainian peace formula, including the withdrawal of Russian troops, restoration of justice, environmental security, prevention of escalation and recurrence of war, and confirmation of the war’s end.

Previous meetings on the peace formula occurred in 2023 in Malta, Copenhagen, and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
