Poverty in Bihar will get eradicated if granted special status : Nitish

Munger, Nov 25,2023: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday declared that poverty in the state would get eradicated completely if special status demand was accepted by the Centre.

Kumar while addressing a function organised on the occasion of laying foundation stone of a Government Medical College and Hospital here, said that special status was an urgent need for Bihar and it should be granted without any further loss of time.
On the basis of recently held socio economic caste survey, state government had decided to launch schemes for providing livelihood to poor and also concrete houses to them, which required Rs 2.5 lakh crores, he added.

“If Bihar is given a special status, state government would be in a position to spend Rs 2.5 lakh crores for alleviation of poverty completely in the state,” Chief Minister said adding that Centre was meting out step motherly treatment to Bihar.
