Nitish reiterates demands for special status to Bihar

Patna, Mar 23,2023: Reiterating his demand for special status to Bihar, chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the state would make speedy progress once the special status is granted to it.

Addressing a function organised on the occasion of Bihar Diwas at the historical Gandhi Maidan on Wednesday, Nitish Kumar said that Bihar should get the special status category for its overall development. He said the per capita income in the country is Rs one lakh 50 thousand whereas in Bihar it was just Rs 64383.

The CM said that despite all odds the growth rate of Bihar was increasing continuously since 2009 and sometimes it was even more than the national average. He said had the special status been granted to it, the state would have made speedy progress.

Highlighting the ongoing caste based census in Bihar he said that it was not done after 1931 and added that an effort was made to conduct it in 2011 but being improper, itd report could not be published
