Bhopal, Dec 28 ,2021: The Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission on Tuesday ordered cancellation of the schedule issued on December 4 regarding three-tier panchayat polls.
Commission Secretary BS Jamod wrote to all the district collectors.
Subsequent to issuance of the poll programme, a phase of political rhetoric commenced vis-à-vis roster and reservation. The matter reached the High Court and then the Supreme Court. The apex court annulled Other Backward Classes quota in panchayats.
The issue echoed in the Assembly and, a couple of days back, the state Cabinet decided to rescind the related ordinance.
