Chennai, Jan 30,2021: Floral tributes were paid to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his death anniversary in Tamil Nadu today.
Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Ministers and other dignitaries garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the Marina Beach front and paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of the late leader.
An all religious prayer was also held to mark the occasion.
Later, the Governor paid floral tributes to a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Bhavan and also administered the untouchability pledge to the officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan.
Elsewhere in the State leaders of various parties paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi to mark the occasion.
