Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 12, Kerala reported 78 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, while 32 infected people have tested negative and total 1,303 patients are under treatment in various districts, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
In a statement issued here this evening, the Minister also confirmed the death of 71-year-old person in Kannur district on Thursday due to COVID, taking the total death toll in Kerala to 19. The deceased, a heart patient with severe respiratory issues, had returned from Mumbai on June 9, she added.
“A total of 2,27,402 people are under observation in various districts of the state. A total of 2,25,417 are under surveillance in the home or institutional quarantine and 1,985 are isolated in hospitals. Total 242 people were hospitalised today,” she said.
