New Delhi, Jun 3, On the third day of Unlock 1, the country continued to register fresh cases of Novel Coronavirus, taking the total total number of infections to 201799 on Wednesday, including 100302 recoveries, while the death toll reached neared the 6000 mark.
According to the Health Ministry data, the country presently housed 101497 active cases, while a positive patient had migrated from the nation. The death toll had reached 5815 across the country.
Maharashtra continued to top the infection charts, registering total 72300 cases, including 38502 active patients, while 31333 people had been cured and discharged from the hospitals. The state has so far recorded 2465 deaths.
Tamil Nadu stood second, registering total 24586 patients, including 10683 active cases and 13706 recoveries. The state has recorded 197 deaths.
The upward trend continued in the national capital, which registered 22132 total infections, including 12333 active cases, 9243 recoveries and 556 deaths.
While the number of patients in Gujarat were lower than the other states, recording 17617 total cases, its death toll was alarming at 1092. However, the state showed a positive trend in recoveries, as total 11894 people had been cured, while only 4631 patients were active.
Rajasthan registered 9373 COVID patients, including 2735 active cases, 6435 recoveries and 203 deaths.
Few employees of Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL’s) Corporate Office at Lodi Road in the National Capital have been tested Corona positive. This is first case of confirmation at the Company Headquarters since the outbreak of the pandemic. The office has been closed for June 3 and 4 and the employees have been asked to work from home.
COVID-19 has covered the entire Odisha with 143 fresh positive cases, taking the total count to 2388, including 1325 recoveries. Official sources said that Rayagada district, the only COVID-free district in the state, reported a positive case, a Delhi returnee, put up in the quarantine centre.
