New Delhi, May 3, As the number of Novel Coronavirus confirmed cases reached 39,980 in the country, the armed forces of the nation, who have been entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the security of people in the country, played ‘Thanksgiving’ host to a different line of soldiers, who were stepping out of their homes, braving all odds, in the battle against Novel Coronavirus.
‘So far, a total of 10,632 people have been cured. In the last 24 hours, 682 patients were found cured. This takes our total recovery rate to 26.59 per cent, an official statement from the Ministry of Health said.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that India has crossed over 10 lakh tests till date and are performing over 74,000 tests in a day presently.

The armed forces, including the Indian Army, Indian Naval Services and the Indian Air Force organised several activities as a show of gratitude, including paying floral tributes to all the frontline workers, who were working day and night, to check the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the nationwide activities to honour Corona warriors, the Indian Army officials honoured the doctors and staff of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), a Covid-19 hospital in Aurangabad, on the ‘Corona Warriors Day’. They also displayed a banner, ‘INDIA SALUTES CORONA WARRIORS’, while maintaining social distancing norms.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, apart from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the various ways, in which the Indian armed forces felicitated the Corona warriors and thanked them for paying tribute to Corona warriors at the National Police Memorial, as well as across the country.
The headquarters of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was sealed, after a staff of one of the top officers of the CRPF tested COVID-19 positive.
The CRPF Directorate General (DG) has ordered that the CRPF Headquarters in Delhi will remain closed till May 5 morning.
Lokpal Member Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi died at the AIIMS in New Delhi, after being infected with Coronavirus.
