Article 370 abrogation: Apex court issues notice to Centre, case will be heard in early October

sc3New Delhi, Aug 29: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Centre after hearing a batch of petitions on abrogation of Article 370 that provided a special status to Jammu and Kashmir and ruled that the matter will be heard by a five-judge constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, in the first week of October.

The apex court also issued a notice to the Centre on the plea by Kashmir Times Executive Editor, Anuradha Bhasin, seeking a direction for relaxing restrictions on internet, landline, and other communication channels. The SC sought a detailed response from the Centre within 7 days.
