116 LS constituencies go to polls in third phase today

Youtn-Voters9New Delhi, Apr 23: Altogether 116 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states and two Union Territories
go to polls on April 23 in the third phase of the 2019 general election, projected as the biggest as it covers
so many Parliamentary constituencies in a single phase.
More than 18 crore, 85 lakh voters will decide the fate of 1,640 candidates in over 210,000 polling booths set up for smooth conduct of polls, an official release here said.
Prominent candidates in the fray in this phase include Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is seeking to be
returned from Wayanad, and former Congress minister Shashi Tharoor from the Thiruvananthapuram constituency, also in Kerala.
Apart from Kerala, the states where polling will be held are: Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat,
Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal besides the
union territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency in Jammu & Kashmir is going to the polls in Phase III, IV and V of
the General Elections 2019, the only such constituency in the country. Four districts to be covered in the Anantnag are Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama. Elections to Tripura Parliamentary constituency were cancelled in Phase 2 of elections.
