
Pakistan on Friday released Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured on February 27 after the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) violated the Indian airspace and downed his MiG 21 ‘Bison’ aircraft in an engagement on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. He bailed out and landed in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The pilot was accompanied by Indian High Commission officials from Islamabad.
