A caveat has been filed by the Maharashtra government at the Supreme Court on Monday regarding the 16% reservation granted to the Maratha community under the new Maharashtra Reservation Act.
On November 30, Vinod Patil, a social worker who had earlier filed a petition opposing the reservation had filed a caveat at the Bombay High Court.
On November 29, the Maharashtra Assembly had unanimously passed a Bill proposing 16% reservation for Marathas in government jobs and education.
