New Delhi, Sep 22: India bowled out Bangladesh for 173 runs in 49.1 overs in the Super Four Match at Abu Dhabi International Stadium, UAE , on Friday.
Playing after 14 months in ODIs, Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets.
India won the toss and put Bangladesh to bat first.
Bangladesh started poorly as their both openers departed for 16 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave India its first breakthrough when he dismissed Liton Das for seven off 16 balls. Then Jasprit Bumrah took the second wicket of Nazmul Hossain Shanto for seven.
After this, Bangladesh kept loosing their wickets at regular intervals. At one point, they were reduced to 101/7 in 33.2 overs. Then, skipper Mashrafe Mortaza (26) and Mehidy Hasan (42) played a fighting innings to notch up a 67-run eighth wicket stand for Bangladesh.
Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets, while Bhuvneshwar and Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets each to restrict Bangladesh to 173.
Mehedi Hasan was the top-scorer from the Bangladeshi side with 42 runs off 50 balls hitting two sixes and as many boundaries.
