National Sports Awards 2018 announced; Mirabai Chanu, Virat Kohli to get Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna

New Delhi, Sep 21: National sports awards were announced by the Union ministry of Youth affairs and sports here on Thursday.
The ministry announced that Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and weightlifter Mirabai Chanu will receive the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award on September 25.

Neeraj Chopra ( javelin thrower), Smriti Mandhana, (women cricket) and among other 18 sportspersons has been selected for the Arjuna Awards.
Dronacharya Award for coaches for producing medal winners at prestigious International sports events were also announced.
“The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a specially organised function at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on 25th September, 2018,” the release added.
