Swapna Barman takes gold in Women’s Heptathlon

Jakarta, Aug 30: India’s Swapna Barman added country’s gold medal tally to 11 on day 11 in Women’s Heptathlon of the Asian Games here on Wednesday.
This is India second gold on day 11 while first was secured by Arpinder Singh in men’s Triple Jump earlier this evening.
Heptathlon considered as the toughest Athletic event the Indian athlete Swapna had no difficulty and with ease broke the 6000 point barrier taking home gold with 6026 points while silver was taken by China’s Wang Qingling taking 5954 points and Japan’s Yamasaki Yuki had to settle with bronze with 5873 her personal best here.
