New Delhi, Feb 15: Amid uproar from political parties including the NDA ally TDP, over the ‘neglect’ towards Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to demand payment of ‘Backward region grand’ (BRG) from the Centre.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister demanded the special fund amounting to Rs. 450 crore, sources said.
After its creation from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana was receiving the BRG fund every year.
