New Delhi, Jan 31 : Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday announced that under TEQIP-III initiative ‘Bimaru’ states of the country, as the term was coined during the Congress period, would be able to provide quality technical education to their students with the support from the Centre.
Under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-III (TEQIP), a total of 1225 teachers have joined the service of three years on contract in 53 government engineering colleges in 11 states namely–Bihar, Assam, J&K, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
“There was a huge faculty crisis; some of them have 60 per cent vacancy. This mission will bring new hope and aspiration among the students and teachers of these colleges,” said the HRD minister.
